Leather Washers

Decided to try my hand at punching leather washers. These are handy for installing aluminum fenders - the leather conforms to the shape of the soft aluminum and keeps the fenders from rattling. Over time they flatten-out and loose some of their resilience, so a fresh supply will keep things quite and secure.

Where does one get punches?

I bought mine from McMaster-Carr, an industrial supply company we use at work. The large punch is 1/2", made by O'Brien Consolidated Industries in Lewiston, ME. $12.67. The small punch is 5mm, made by C.S. Osborne & Co. in Harrison, NJ. $24.00. Though less expensive, the O'Brien punch is better-made than the metric Osborne punch.

You might be able to find similar punches at other industrial supply stores such as Grainger, which sells to the public through it's stores.

All I can think of is prison crafts.
And to answer your question, no.
